SEND ME TO JORDAN

Can you envision a country that hosts large groups of refugees, mostly from Iraq and Syria, which leads to economic, political and religious pressure, all of which is potentially destabilizing.

I want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity God has presented to me. During March - June,I was serving in the Middle East in Jordan and Israel. I will be going back to Jordan with a team from September Nation2Nations DTS . Our two-month trip will focus on Muslims and Christians prosecuted form Iraq. The Muslim culture in this area of the world that is often referred to as 'the heart of darkness.'

Jordanian society is multi-ethnic – a phenomenon which is also reflected by the monarchy. Jordan hosts large groups of refugees, mostly from Iraq and Syria, which leads to economic, political and religious pressure, all of which is potentially destabilizing. The number of Christians in the country has been declining for half a century. For a long time, Jordan was one of the most liberal countries in the region in terms of freedom of religion. However, the tide seems to be turning for Christians – especially for Christian converts from a Muslim background (MBBs) who suffer the most persecution. Believers here often face interrogations from police or even abduction by family members.

In cooperation with local partners and churches, Open Doors is supporting the church in Jordan through the following activities: Training, Relief and rehabilitation and research. Open Doors also raises prayer support for believers in Jordan

The purpose of our trip is fourfold:

• First, we will be allowing God to work in our lives through the personal enrichment that comes from this type of a mission trip.

• Second, this Prayer Journey will help us focus our individual prayers by traveling to a foreign land and praying 'on-site with insight.' We will pray for the Muslims people that God may open their eyes and hearts to the message of Jesus.

• Third, we will be visiting an 'unreached people group' of which less than 1% is Christian. Alliance Christian Church has adopted the Muslim refugees, people group of families, individual and is assisting in bringing them the gospel. We will be working with some Ministries to help them grow in their Christian walk.

• Fourth, we will encourage local Ministry for Christians in Al Fuheis,a Christian village accommodating prosecuted Christians from Iraq . Our presence will bolster their spirits and support their work. We will visit many small villages in Jordan where we will develop relationships with other Missionaries living and serving there.

I'm excited about the opportunity and experience that lie ahead. I hope you see the value in what we will accomplish. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. I need to raise $3,000 (R 41,022.15) for return flight ticket, food, accommodation, etc, by November 20th. If you can support me in a financial way, I would be very grateful.

And, most importantly, I also need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's leading in ministry in these country. Without prayer, nothing will happen. If you would like to be part of this mission through your financial support, send a check to: [ YWAM MUIZENBERG 19 Alexander Rd, Muizenberg, 7945 ] Envelopes are enclosed for your convenience. Please make your check payable to YWAM MUIZENBERG and write "JORDAN" and my name on the memo line.

All contributions are tax deductible.

While money is important, it comes in a distant second to my need for your prayer support. Since prayer support is so important to the success of this mission, I would like to know if I can count on you in that area.

Your consideration is very much appreciated. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call me directly at the number below.

Because they haven't heard,

Kamohelo Molepo
